A.    The Enthusiastic Style:  Celebrating the Power of God  

1.    Characteristics

a.    They connect with God most often through exciting experiences.
b.    They hunger for more of God.
c.    They enter easily into worship.

2.    Strengths

a.    Open to and aware of the supernatural.
b.    Striving to see and experience God’s power.

3.    Weaknesses

a.    Emotions can rule.
b.    Lack of Biblical study.

4.    Neglect

a.    Sound doctrine.
b.    Logic and science.

B.    Mystical Style:  Resting in the Presence of God  

1.    Characteristics

a.    They connect with God through inner quiet and rest.
b.    Openness to the inner witness of the Spirit.
c.    See all people through God’s eyes.

2.    Strengths

a.    Open to the mysterious.
b.    Cultivate the inner life.

3.    Weaknesses

a.    Confusing feelings with God.
b.    Things that are rational lose their interest.

4.    Neglect

a.    Biblical standards.
b.    Logic and doctrine

C.    The Sacramental Style:  Expressing the Incarnation of God  

1.    Characteristics

a.    They connect with God through symbols and rituals.
b.    The invisible becomes visible.
c.    The event is central.

2.    Strengths

a.    Appreciation of tradition.
b.    Open to God speaking through the physical..

3.    Weaknesses

a.    Insensitivity to outsiders.
b.    Magical view of symbols

4.    Neglect

a.    The seeker’s need to know Jesus.
b.    The value of change.
